What a very nice long weekend. I am happily sitting in bed watching Frozen with Rob while I write this entry. He hasn't ever actually seen it, can you believe it...actually I guess he still hasn't because he is asleep 10 minutes in. The weekend has been full of a lot of t.v. watching, friends visiting, fantasy football, video game playing and basketball for Daniel and a ton of laundry and cleaning and errands for me. So hmm, I guess we are pretty much at a normal weekend.
Last night we had a wonderful family dinner to celebrate our 17th Anniversary. But the celebration was to celebrate so much more. We toasted to Matthew having a great first week at his new school and to a bright new beginning for him and to Daniel being home and feeing good for right now. Since we aren't really able to go out to restaurants to eat and we are a family that typically is used to eating out 5 or more times a week it has been difficult for us adjusting to this change in lifestyle. But last night Rob made special arrangements for our celebrations. He spoke to Daniel's favorite Denver restaurant Shanahan's (the kid has pretty good taste) and they were very gracious and accommodating. We were set up in a very private dining room so that we could enjoy a nice evening out and a wonderful meal made by SOMEONE ELSE. The meal was fabulous as always and Daniel ate his usual enormous amount which was heaven for us to see. Never have we been so thrilled for such a huge food bill. The conversation with the boys grows exceedingly more mature which never cease to amaze and shock me that my boys are growing into fine young men (minus the inappropriate dirty jokes). Daniel of course couldn't leave without getting his mitts on the Denver Broncos - Green Bay Packers Lombardi Trophy to end his meal and then rushed home to complete his first fantasy football draft.
Today has been wonderfully low key with more cleaning, laundry and a nap (for Rob) and frozen...perfect so far.
