Today we are on our last day of the first type of chemotherapy and no side effects. We have gotten through the better part of the week without any loss of appetite and he is staying infection free. This means he is able to get out of our room and walk in our little part of the unit. This is HUGE. It allows us to move and this is so important physically and mentally. Even if it is just a little it is enough to keep spirits moving. It is very easy to get claustrophobic in our little room. We are in a much smaller room than we were before so it is tough on our psychological state. We are making the best of it though. We have decorated the window with Daniel’s ultimate fantasy football team jerseys and hung up his Green Bay Packers flag over the door window for privacy. Trying to make the place a little more homey isn’t easy. I am trying to keep him doing school work as much as possible and not letting him waste time on videos and tv since I know there will be lots of time for that. We are keeping pretty busy through most of the day and with his teacher still coming until he can’t come anymore we are staying on schedule with everything expected of us here. We have had our favorite nurses these past couple days so things are great there too. They keep Daniel on his toes and really happy.
