Every night Daniel thanks me for such a day. Today I had to say it to him. Today was truly a GREAT GREAT day. I have learned a lot about Daniel this summer. his strength and bravery, his compassion. I knew he had all of those. Maybe not this much certainly but I knew he was all of those things already, but this week I learned how artistic he was. The other day he drew a huge lifelike shark on the windo. I really never knew he could draw. For those of you who know me in Denver know I love to paint murals. Maybe he has picked a little something up from the old lady after all in the creativity department but today.... Today blew me away. Brought me to tears actually. Daniel and I spent all afternoon cuddled in bed today writing a song. Something I have never really done. The Seacrest studio has a contest going to write a song to win Bronco or Nuggets tickets. Daniel knows full well he can't go but he is up for the challenge. The contest was to write a parody to a Frozen song. Well I screwed up the directions. It didn't have to be about the Broncos but in the end ultimately it probably would have been anyway. Well if we didn't actually spend the entire day turning out a song. The two of us were actually sweating at one point we were so exciting. We were high fiving left and right at the end of a sentence. At one point he said he thought he may have to do back to ICU for sheer awesomeness overload. When I said we were like Simon and Garfunkel he said it weas more like I was Weird and he was Al. I did tell you he was funny too. In the end (we) turned out a song that is so frickin fantastic. I can't even begin to tell you. It totally can stand up to any one of those parody videos you see on you tube and I could not be more proud. He proudly belted it out to a few nurses her to test it out and it clearly gave them chills and tears in their eyes. It is preficed with the excuse of the voice (and me as his back up singer he-hem) and the cracking and terrible voice doesn't even matter because the words are so good. He can not wait until Monday when DJ Chris gets to the studio to present it. He knows he is a winner already. I can't argue and I am not even being bias. Okay do I sound a bit bias. It is AMAZING. I know I know Rob had to pull out the 70's Make Miracles Happen- but people this is This ain't no Jerry Lewis Crap we are talking Facebook quality ESPY award winning shit here. Mark my words. We may even be talking fall back Make-a -Wish caliber. (Shhhh... we aren't revealing this yet) and then if this didn't make me the happiest momma in the world seeing this creative side and the excitement of accomplishment in my kid we were settling down from endorphins and he looked out our big picture window (while watching football of course) and said "Stop what you are doing right now momma and look outside- isn't that the most beautiful picture worthy sunset you have ever seen. We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful city" Oy my heart melts. This kid is so special. Tonight I had to work hard to beat him to it to thank him for making the day so special. I am truly blessed for
