Well we have been here since Monday now and I hate to say it is like we have never left. Isn't that awful? But seriously, we are all settled in and Daniel's chemotherapy is well underway. He has had several treatments and hasn't really shown any side effects yet, except maybe a slight loss of appetite...maybe. He has definetly slipped into lazy mode and doesn't like to get out of his bed for ANYTHING. Mom get me this, Mom bring me that. The kids here are supposed to keep moving and stay active. They should get out of bed, walk down the hall and continue to play. Daniel likes it better if I bring him his toothbrush and spit cup so he can brush in bed and not move with his IV pole, and bring him a tissue get him his water.... He thinks he is the Prince and I am his servant. He says jump and I do but he does say thank you every time but with a smirk. He knows he is working it....but I am getting a workout and I can't deny him.
Monday night we had a wonderful get together her with some friends that could make it to hear a little bit about bone marrow donations from the Delete Blood Cancer organization and Love Hope Strength. Daniel came to say hi to everyone and show them just how strong he is. Last night was craziness rushing to Matthew's new school for back to school night to see what to expect there for the year ( Aunty Debbie came to stay with Daniel which he always loves). Matthew missed school yesterday and stayed home sick by himself and I needed to stay away which I hated because I couldn't risk exposure. Also knowing that he missed a day of school already drives me crazy and that I can't be there to catch him up is hard for me too. It is hard enough to get your kids to listen when you are in their face, when I cannot there is even harder. I was however encouraged and excited to hear all about what Matthew has to look forward to at his new school. We have a lot to look forward to for Matthew this year. And speaking of school I was sent home with several assignments from the school for Daniel to get started on until his program is figured out to keep him learning and busy. I schlepped 4 enourmous and very heavy textbooks around that huge school last night and was beyond sore and exhausted when I got back to the hospital last night. Well at least I know what Daniel
