So Daniel felt a lot better later yesterday and before bed and then when it was time to go to sleep he had to take some terrible eye drops that were more like a thick gel in his eyeball. What a trooper. He toughed it out and I know it helped because although he was kicking and screaming from how bad the gel felt it must have helped because he slept well through the night. And his eyes felt even better this morning. So medicine (the Chemotherapy) that makes one thing better has made other things worse that other medicine has to treat. He slept late and then when he finally got going ended up nauseated and throwing up. First we have seen of that...so what do they do, more different medications to stop the throwing up, so now he is asleep from those medicines again. Hmph. It is a double edged sword and yet you know what the kicker is out of all of it. The ultimate answer to the cure for Daniel is that they have to use all of this research and medicine and science and medical expertise to cure Daniel with NO MEDICINE. Hear me out. Yes there is a ton of medicine and millions of dollars of it by the way to get him to that place but in the end it is the Bone Marrow Transplant or stem cells he will get and that is not medicine at all. That is an all natural cure if you think about it. Isn't that amazing. All the medicine (actually poison) that it will take this body to get him ready for the transplant and then all the medicine it will take to make sure that he can accept it and not get infections and stay healthy and feel good to not reject it, the later immunize further to strength against anything further going wrong. But ultimately the cure is in what is all natural. Amazing. Just what I think about when I can't sleep.
Other thoughts of the day: Daniel's hair has mostly grown back in. This is by far the longest he has gone without shaving his head in years. Alas it will most certainly fall out again during transplant next month (and he has already says he doesn't care) but now we know how long it will take to come back in. By the way it is so soft and fuzzy and it is lighter color than before. And yes I am nagging him that he needs it cut.
Another piece of exciting news: Yesterday FINALLY things were straightened out and Daniel was assigned a teacher to start working with him. He has been doing school work on his own for the past two weeks while things were a bit confused and frustrating. The very first thing he said when he woke up this morning was: Do we know what time my teacher gets here? I love this kid.
