It is already DAY 2 and what a difference a day makes. DAY 1 was not so great, hence no post. It was a little hectic all up in here. The schedule of medicines first of all is ridiculous in the first place and since Daniel seemed to be reacting to something, either the transplant itself or a medication (or combination) it has turned into a bit of a science experiment trying to figure it all out. Who remembers the TV show HOUSE. We need Dr. House here to try and figure this one out. Once again my unicorn child has shown again to have peculiar symptoms. The team has broadened and Daniel’s head transplant Doctor wants to get ‘more eyes’ on Daniel. In a way this is comforting knowing they all consult with each other and discuss their best ideas but on the other hand why don’t they know what is going on. Daniel has a head ache and is hot all day yet the room is 65 degrees (I am wearing a hat and gloves) and he has a heating pad on his belly for stomach pain and an ice pack on his head but he registers with no fever. He has a full rash over his whole body and his palms and soles are deep, deep red, almost purple. It is quite the picture. And very scary. They treat him with Benadryl and histamines all day and we are just trying to separate out what it could be before they react too harshly. As the doctors say, the waters are very muddied right now with everything going on at the same time. So overall with so much activity at the bedside Daniel was again show and tell as everyone came in to take a peak and he napped more than usual between football shows. He watched Thursday night football and had a full steak dinner cooked by Chef Aunty Debbie and that made him very happy. He crashed hard around his usual time after bedtime medicine routines (not fun) and when he (we) woke up very late this morning. VWALLA!!!
NO RASH. Woohoo. Doctors are suspecting that in facta it was residual antibodies from the transplant itself and Daniel’s body accepting them at first. I guess it wasn’t such a warm welcome party he threw for them maybe. So now we are starting a day late but let’s hope for an uneventful DAY 2. Poptarts are down and he is working on Friday’s football [P]Review show for 2 pm. Let’s just keep up this pace for the day and I hope to get a shower this morning.
