Besides Annie and Michael we didn't know anyone there...except a few of Daniel's doctors. Remember how you felt when you saw your teachers as a kid at a store or somewhere other than school and it was almost like you didn't recognize them, well there was no way in the world that any of Daniel's doctors recognized me. They are used to seeing me before I even brush my teeth in the morning. It was quite funny to see some of their reactions. We did see Daniel's favorite Doctor there and took a picture and sent it back to him at the hospital. He truly got a big kick out of it. Speaking of Daniel back at the hospital, this was going to be the first time leaving him. He said he wanted to try to have some time alone finally so we compromised and our wonderful friend Ronit bought him up some dinner and came to "hang out" she stayed and reported that Daniel indoctrinated here t hospital life. She ended up leaving and giving him some time to himself like he wanted (a couple hours only). During their time together I must add that Daniel made my bed and got it all ready for me. What a sweet boy...and he didn't even short sheet it. When we did get back, He was still up and very quiet. I asked him what was wrong and he said he thought it was maybe too much time on his own and wished Ronit had stayed longer. So sweet. Anyway it was pretty funny coming back to the hospital all dressed up. The nurses were so excited to see us all dressed up and Daniel and I actually stayed up chatting about the event for abou an hour. It was very emotional and there were many touching stories throughout the night. Some amazing kids were there to show their triumphs and I can just see Daniel up on that stage next year sharing his story. I was disappointed that they didn't highlight Daniel's Broncos Go video. Not at all because of Daniel in anyway but because if you watch the video it is a true testament to what this facility does for these children. I truly believe the video showed how everyone including the families, patients, staff and heads of the hospital came together at almost a moments notice to make a beautiful moment together. I understand the planning an event like last night takes to run smoothly like it did, but I hope our boy will be up there shining next year, like the star he is. Meanwhile the stories and the children that were there were miraculous and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. I also met a very lovely couple we sat with that have a very sick little 3 year old boy. He is receiving dialysis for kidney failure but receives his dialysis treatments at home DAILY. What a strong family they are. We agreed that what choice do we have. We do anything for our babies no matter how difficult. A cute side note was that us two moms spoke about our sons half the night and well into the night this mom says that her mom in Iowa sent her a video of a video from the hospital that was filmed here. I told her that was Daniel. So cute, she got so excited and said that now she loved Daniel EVEN MORE than she already did. She said she couldn't wait to tell her mom that she met Daniel's mom. They will be here overnight for another surgery for there son next Monday and I have invited her up to meet Daniel and for a visit since we had such a nice night together.
So last night I left the hospital, and it wasn't just to run an errand. We were invited as the guests of the fabulous Annie Foonberg to sit at her and Michael's table at the Children's Hospital Gala. Annie has a table every year to honor her three wonderful children Maddie, Gavin and Asher. (MadGavAsh) who have all benefited life saving services at TCH. It was fancy schmancy and considering I haven't worn makeup or anything other than yoga pants since June 6th it was quite the environmental culture shock. What a well organized and run event. There were wonderful silent auction items which all seemed to raise a great deal of money for the hospital. ROb and I looked at everything very closely, but unfortunately realized our lives are extremely restricted for the next year and we will probably be unable to do much of anything that was probably donated to the hospital auction. Once the live auction was going it was incredible the money that was raised for TCH. There was not a selfish person in that ballroom when it came to bidding. And they bid big an bid fast. It was apparent that anyone there was there for the cause and it is because they have been touched in someway by this hospital. Then today a friend of Daniel's, younger sister Talia held a fundraiser as one of her Bat Mitzvah projects. She invited all her friends and Daniel's friends, and their families to come "get their endorphins flowing" and workout for Daniel. What a wonderful success. Ronit (Talia's mom) reported a fantastic turnout and great funds were raised with their efforts, plus more is still coming in. They sent Daniel a great supportive video to lift his spirits and he loved seeing his friends he hasn't seen in a while. All Talia's money raised will go to Leukemia research like he asked. What a great young kid to do such a good thing, FOR SOMEONE ELSE! I am so proud of these kids for coming together for Daniel. We look forward to Hannah's walk on Thursday night.

A dental implant helps you rediscover your natural smile and boost your self-confidence. A dental implant is an artificial tooth that replaces a former natural tooth. It is placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge.
