Daniel's numbers are definitely dropping but you would never know it. He looks and acts healthier than ever. His hair is back with a vengeance but very light in color and quite fuzzy really. It is coming out if he pulls at it and he will surely lose it again soon, but meanwhile this is the longest his hair has been in a very long time. We walk around the unit frequently everyday, we try for 3 to 4 times a day and our goal is at least 3 or4 laps each time. We chart it and tomorrow we will hit 10K. The funny thing is that Daniel's long legs are making me almost have to jog to keep up. He laughs at me. The nurses, laugh at me, I laugh at me as I am trying to keep up, but we do it. The doctors are so happy to see how great he is doing compared to the kid in so much pain that couldn't even lift his leg. It is really remarkable. It is really remarkabe to see him as healthy as he is. it is so good to see him strong.
We have had very sketchy internet the past days which has forced us to be resourceful. Back to basics. We talk a lot and play, we pass time just doing busy stuff between nurses coming in every 15 minutes. We would love company and visitors. I am sure Daniel is so sick of me even though he still thanks me for making his days fun for him. Yesterday he went and did a radio show in the Seacrest studio which they would like to make a regular weekly segment. I personally wonder how many kids are THAT interested in football but I suppose thee are a lot of parents here at TCH passing time too to entertain. He will be hosting a call in sports show Friday and Mondays now to predict the weekend ahead and wrap up the weekend that was. Oy, he never gets sick of it but DJ Chris is astounded by his breadth of football knowledge and if nothing else he is starting to build his sports analyst resume now...plus it helps pass the time. He is very comfortable and his banter is fabulous.

Unfortunately, Daniel's new teacher was unable to start on Monday. He felt he had a bit of a cold and conscienciously couldn't come up yet so we are plugging away on our own while he feels good to work. Oh boy I am so glad he is a smart kid and can work on his own because I am useless in helping him.
And Tuesday night I am so excited to say Matthew finally came up to play. I was so excited. Matthew had a cold and couldn't come up for a visit since we have been here this round. I haven't seen him or the boys together in weeks. THey were goofy and silly and acted like they were 7 and 8 years old. They were loud and obnoxious and I was so happy to have them all here. It was like being at home on a typical night. It actually tired me out having everyone here for an hour.
Tomorrow will be another day of school work and Wednesday is food trucks so we will get some fresh are and walking in. I am needing to leave the hospital for an appointment in the outside world so that will be somewhat of a shock to the system but it has been overdue so Rob will be here to hold down the fort. I have not wrapped my head around what our Jewish New Year will look like in the hospital. We will be here and alone and I know that we will be fine and go about our business. There will be many more years to celebrate in the future, but right now our place is here. I can't even think about that right now. I need to think about it day by day.
